Welcome - Who is this blog for?

Almost everyone I've spoken to during my career has felt unsatisfied with their lot. Much like me, they've often had "successful" careers, of which others are envious. Yet they still have a burning desire to do something else - to break free from the shackles of the 9-5 job.

So this blog is for those who have the desire to do something different, but haven't quite done anything about it yet, or haven't quite achieved what they'd set out to achieve.

"...being in a job you can tolerate is far more dangerous than being in one you can't."

If your job is bearable at the moment, you'll find the decision to quit and go it alone far more daunting. That's why I often say being in a job you can tolerate is far more dangerous than being in one you can't.

Step 1 of this blog will help you understand why you feel unsatisfied in your current job, and what you should be looking out for in your next venture.

In Step 2 we will explore what your venture might be; this will involve some structured brainstorming and is likely to continue evolving as you think of more and more opportunities to add.

Most importantly, Step 3 will then look at how to best implement your idea(s) in order to give you the best chance of success. We'll basically try to identify which opportunities you'll be most interested in and which also offer the least amount of risk.

ACTION: When you see this, it means you have to do something.
